How to Improve Email Deliverability in 2026
What is Email Deliverability?
Email deliverability is the percentage of emails that reach the inbox versus spam folder. A good deliverability rate is 95%+. Below 90% means you have a serious problem.
The Key Metrics
Bounce Rate: Keep below 2%. Hard bounces (invalid addresses) hurt reputation. Clean your list regularly.
Complaint Rate: Keep below 0.1%. If recipients mark you as spam, ISPs will throttle your sending.
Open Rate: Industry average is 20-25%. Low open rates signal to ISPs that recipients do not want your emails.
Domain Authentication
Set up DKIM, SPF, and DMARC. These prove you are authorized to send from your domain. Without them, emails go to spam.
IP Warm-up
New dedicated IPs need to build reputation. Start with 200 emails per day and gradually increase over 28 days.
